As we approach the end of 2016, there is plenty to reflect on & look forward to at Court Colman Manor. The year was a remarkable one in so many ways, not least of all because it heralded 250 years of the manor itself. We are thrilled so many guests could enjoy it with us, whether you came to dine, stay or even to tie the knot with your loved ones. As proud as we are of the hotel’s heritage and timeless elegance though, we intend to make 2017 just as remarkable. Here are a few reasons to feel nostalgic yet also excited for the future:

A Year for History

Past times; but much of Court Colman's timeless charm, along with features such as the lily pond, remain intact.

It is a slightly eerie feeling to think that Court Colman Manor turned 250 in 2016. But for all the changes over many years, regular guests will instantly recognise features of the mansion that remain almost unchanged for a century and more. We’ve gone a little upmarket since the good old days however; to take just one example, today’s conservatory was once full of horses and hay! Details such as the old sundial, Grecian urns and lily pond remain though, as a charming reminder of Victorian times.

Just as curious as imagining past dignitaries such as the Sherriff of Glamorgan wandering the grounds, however, is pondering how future generations will look back at us and wonder. In fact,  we plan to add our own little chapter to the heritage of Court Colman in 2017 with the addition of a time capsule! What would you leave to be discovered by a visitor in the future years ahead?

A Year for the Future

Some of our proudest achievements of 2016 have been new developments & investments, including new bedrooms, a new bridal suite and updated Garden Room. We even have an impressive new high-tech recording studio situated within our grounds. That said, we do make changes sensitively, to match the elegance of the building and its history. The new additions will no doubt help cement our reputation as one of the best event venues and hotels in South Wales.

Talking of 21st Century developments, we used drone technology this year to get some wonderful aerial shots of the manor. How times change when we compare today's techniques with those of even a decade or two ago!

A Year for Great Food

Top notch Indian cuisine must have been the last thing previous Lords and Ladies of the manor imagined to be found at Court Colman Manor. Authentic, beautifully cooked dishes explain why diners rate us as one of the best Indian restaurants in Wales.  2016 was busy as ever with the Bokhara Brasserie serving up an Indian feast with our revamped menu and special events such as the Kerala Food Festival bringing an authentic taste of India to our beautiful corner of Glamorgan. Watch this space for 2017 as we look to add further flavours and events.

A Year for Romance

Yet again, we have been delighted to host so many beautiful weddings this year. It is all about providing a service and experience to match our setting, rated by many as one of the most beautiful wedding venues in South Wales. We've witnessed some truly beautiful weddings in 2016 (and a scary number of canapes and table decorations!).

We have a feeling that 2017 will be just as romantic as we look forward to hosting more weddings in Glamorgan. We do our best to keep service excellent and wedding packages affordable. We tend to recommend booking well in advance, but we can also provide late availability weddings wherever we are able to accommodate you!
